Below we will endeavour to continue to include public domain and creative commons links:

Public Domain
Creative Commons

1. pub·lic do·main (noun)the state of belonging or being available to the public as a whole, and therefore not subject to copyright.
Public Domain has so many applications and meanings to people. But, its greatest benefit, is that something in the public domain belongs to ALL OF US- to the public. From Beowulf to The Wizard of Oz, and beyond, public domain stories continue to be the shared inheritance of humanity. Images, sounds, music, and story. These are all extremely important resources in making new works, or in making old works in a new way.
2. cre·a·tive com·mons (noun)(CC) is one of several public copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwisde copyrighted work.
A CC license is used when an author wants to give people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that they have created. Creative Commons is a modern outgrowth of Internet sharing culture and allows creators and makers to work together- in a limited way- original works.
