Patricia

I checked the Times of London for sailing info on this vessel. On July 5,
1850 the paper report in the "Vessels Spoken With section of the Ship News:

The Sylvanus, outward-bound, the 10th ult., in lat. 20N., long. 14 W.

So she was at sea at that time. There is no mention of the vessel in
1851 and in 1852 a vessel by this name was returning from Archangel. I
should mention there were several vessels by this name so it is difficult to
sort them out.

The web page you mention is mine and the ship only appears in the 1850
immigration report and not the report for 1851. She came from Westport in
1850.

Regards..

Marj
