You might want to repost this, asking the question from the point of view
of  your next generation ancestor, is this Mary or a child of Michael and
????. It is much easier to hunt back from known than unknown (Michaels
birth year or guess) to unknown.

There are 48 Michael Sullivans arriving in New York from 1844 to 1848
ranging from born 1800 to the way too young 1840's.
