Re: [TSL] Ship ss Corinthian from Belfast to Boston 1938

Hello Ed,

I am thinking that the vessel would be CARINTHIA 1925 Cunard / White Star
http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/descriptions/ShipsC.shtml

That ship did sail from Liverpool, via Irish ports to New York, and I do
see Boston arrivals in 1938

On 25 Jan 1938, 1 May 1938, 29 May 1938, 24 Jul 1938 for example.

I did find this record, mistranscribed as "May"

Name: May Murray
Gender: Female
Ethnic Background: Irish
Estimated birth year: abt 1922
Birth Place: Swanlinbar, Irish Free State
Age: 16
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Ship Name: Carinthia
Arrival Date: 25 Jan 1938
Port of Arrival: Boston, Massachusetts
Friend's Name: Louis Maron
Last Residence: Irish Free State

This child was 15 crossed through and 16 written and she was going to an
aunt GOLDEN in PA ... her father was Patrick and she boarded the ship in
Liverpool, so it doesn't really fit. I tried searching just Murr*y and
the ship name and only found this record above and a Mary Jane Murray,
who sail from Belfast but in 1936 and was 33 years old!

Susan
