Hi,

Unfortunately, Quebec did not begin to archive passenger lists until 1865.
All information we have on TheShipsList website pertaining to pre-archiving
ship arrivals has been gleaned from contemporary newspapers.  We haven't
covered 1848 yet, but to get an idea of what may be found, look here:-
http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/vessels.html

There are some scattered records surviving, many of which may be found
here, at inGeneas  http://www.ingeneas.com/ingeneas/index.html  (two
databases)

Good luck!

Sue
