You can assume for the moment that your relative made the same mistake so many others did when filling out that form or other forms (usually a Declaration of Intent). They mistake or substitute the name of the departure port for the name of the ship.
Such has been the case for many immigrants who said they arrived on the SS Amsterdam, or SS Rotterdam, or SS Bremen, etc. When their ship name and arrival date did not match, a wider search found them on a ship FROM Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bremen, etc.
Your relative may have sailed from Trieste. The Austro American Line sailed from that port in 1906 (but other lines may have too). Also, many passengers who came via Trieste might actually have a departure port of Naples or Palermo, Italy.
Finally, don't limit yourself to 1906. Search a few years either way. The Alien Registration form was filled out from memory, years later, and is often a year or two off.
