You should keep in mind there might have been a variant spelling in
Ireland, especially 'Meagher'.

Hello! List Members!

I have just started my Irish research.

Census records have listed my great great grandmother, Elizabeth (Betty)
MAHER / MAHAR as being born at sea in 1805.

The only thing I am sure of is she was Irish!

I was wondering if someone could tell me where to look for ship records
(Ireland to England) for 1805. I am thinking Elizabeth and her family
came into Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

Eliabeth married Aaron HOWARD in 1826 and settled in Ashton under Lyne,
lived there, had a large family and are buried there.

I have no idea who her parents were at this time! I am told the
largest concentration of MAHER/MAHARs are from County Tipperary, Ireland.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide. I look forward to hearing
from you.

Regards,

At the time, Ireland and England were both part of the UK: there was
therefore no reason to keep (or make) passenger lists.

Hi Lynn, welcome aboard

Unfortunately, Passenger lists are not available for ships travelling
between ports in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. There were
regular
vessels ferrying passengers, but no records were archived.
